Small Business Award Nominations Now Being Accepted!

The Anne Arundel Chamber is proud to host the Small Business Awards Breakfast on February 23rd where we will celebrate the success and community contributions of four local businesses.  We need your help to  get nominations for each of awards described below. Small businesses are the backbone of our local and national economies. In fact, 91% of the businesses in Anne Arundel County have less than 20 employees and collectively they employ  over 200,000 people.  Small businesses also create new jobs at a much faster rate than large corporations and make up a significant all economic activity in the County. To nominate a business, just follow the links below to the online nomination form and provide the requested information.  A panel of judges will review the nominations and select a winner.  All nominations must be submitted by February 3, 2023.  So, if you know a business that would fit the criteria for one of the awards, take the time to complete the online nomination form.

 Small Business of the Year

The Small Business of the Year award is presented to an Anne Arundel County business that has up to 20 employees that has been in business for at least three years. A nominated business should demonstrate consistent growth,   provide outstanding customer service, maintain a quality work environment for employees and  be in the community. A business from any industry can be nominated if they meet the criteria listed above. Corporate Citizenship Award

This award is presented to a business in recognition of their philanthropic contributions and strong commitment to public service.  The focus on the award is not just the business owner or CEO but the entire company. The award celebrates the ongoing dedication of the business to give back to the community. The award is open to any size business. You can nominate a business HERE. You will need to  provide some background information about the nominee and share examples of the company’s community activities over the last three years.

 

Non-Profit of the Year

This award is presented to an Anne Arundel County organization that has demonstrated strong efforts to successfully pursue its mission and improve the quality of life in Anne Arundel County.  The selected organization will show superior commitment to working in close partnership with the business community. Please provide some background information and a share your thoughts why this organization should be recognized and how it has impacted the people of Anne Arundel County. You can nominate a non-profit organization HERE.

 

Emerging Business of the Year

This award recognizes an early-stage business located in Anne Arundel County that opened in 2020-2021 and has demonstrated the potential for growth and has a unique business model. The owner or founder must have the entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to achieve long term success and create jobs here Anne Arundel County. Please provide some background information about the business and explain how their business model is unique and their potential for growth in Anne Arundel County. Legacy Business Award

To recognize and celebrate the long-term success of a minority owned business in Anne Arundel County, the Chamber will present the Legacy Business Award.  The award will be given to a for-profit minority owned business that has been in operation for 20 or more years and while successfully operating their business since 2002, they have been involved in the community and served as a role model and mentor.  You can find out more about the Legacy Business Award and to nominate a business, click HERE.
