Annapolis, is pulling out all the stops. Literally. You don’t have to stop as you enter the new and improved Hillman Garage (two entrances: 160 Duke of Gloucester or 150 Gorman Street). You don’t wait for the arm to go up or down or struggle to pull a ticket. Just drive right in. 

How does it work? Cameras at the entrance are outfitted with license plate readers (LPRs). The LPRs take a picture of every vehicle’s license plate as it enters the garage. Once inside, you’ll need to pay for your parking within 15 minutes in one of three ways:

1. ParkMobile app

2. Text-to-pay

3. QR Code

4. Pay kiosk

You’ll estimate the amount of time you want to use (don’t worry, you can add time with the app or text-to-pay if you decide to stay longer) and then head downtown for all the Annapolis fun that awaits. To avoid a fine, make sure you cover the complete time of your stay.

Why do it this way?  Paying on exit and waiting for the gate to go up created long lines. Now it is easy-breezy to enter and exit. Drive right in and find your favorite spot. Stay in your warm car (in winter) or AC’d car (in summer) and pay using ParkMobile or text – or stop at the pay kiosk as you head downtown. It’s that easy (and quick too!).
