As we observe Memorial Day here in Anne Arundel County and Annapolis, we are reminded of the profound significance this day holds.
It is a time to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.
Just last week, we celebrated the graduation of 1,049 remarkable individuals from the Naval Academy. These graduates will now join the proud ranks of countless Americans who have served in the U.S. Military, dedicating a portion of their lives to defend the Constitution of the United States and the freedoms and liberties we cherish each day.
Today, we dedicate our thoughts and gratitude to those who gave their lives so that we may continue to enjoy a way of life that is the envy of the world. It is important, especially amidst all the “political turbulence,” we are currently experiencing to focus on the true significance of this day and to honor those who answered the call to serve and sacrificed everything to uphold the Constitution and our nation’s values.
A special thank you to all those who have served and all the military families that have sacrificed and support the men and women of the armed services.
Memorial Day is a time to remember and show appreciation for those who made the ultimate sacrifice. May we continue to be a beacon of democracy, opportunity, and hope for all Americans and for people around the world, as we reflect on the price paid by those who have fallen in the line of duty.
